"Regenstein Stacks"

Photographed in Chicago in March of 2005. The stacks of the Regenstein Library at the University of Chicago, a five-story structure and one of the best academic libraries in the world, are famous in scholarly circles and in student folklore. The mid-20th Century architecture of the building lets daylight permeate the structure, at times dramatically.
