"Grosse Point Light Station"

Photographed in the Chicago Area in October of 2004. An icon of Evanston, where Northwestern University is located, Grosse Point Light Station is more than 130 years old. Built to guide navigators into Chicago from the north, it functioned in this capacity from the late 1800s until 1935. Today, an automated light is operational, and the lighthouse and accompanying structures serve as a museum.
